In an unprecedented move, members of Eltham Writers’ Group met today to declare war on bad English, vowing to conduct a guerrilla war against the misuse of the English language whenever they detect it.
Citing what they see as an unprecedented onslaught of atrocious spelling mistakes, poor sentence construction and incorrect verb conjugation, the group will forthwith launch surprise raids on social media sites highlighting what they see as sheer laziness and lack of interest in preserving the purity of modern English.
